Meet Kisstina Francis of Kissy Face Med Spa in Adrian, Michigan

Kisstina was born and raised in Lenawee County and has lived here nearly her whole life, aside from a stint in Tennessee. She moved back after being diagnosed with thyroid and lymph node cancer, choosing to do her treatment at the University of Michigan. That diagnosis is also what pulled her into aesthetics in the first place. When she later got married and people assumed she’d relocate her business closer to her husband’s home near Lincoln Park, she said no. Lenawee County is where she built her clientele, and where the community carried her family through her grandson’s own cancer diagnosis at just eighteen months old. Giving back to this specific place has stayed personal for her ever since.

She landed in Lenawee in 2008 answering phones for a local doctor’s office, and her natural curiosity took over from there. She asked to learn aesthetics, was trained and eventually certified as a trainer herself, and spent about eight years building connections in the field. When COVID hit and she found herself, for the first time in her life, with every one of her kids out of the house, she used the downtime to ask herself what came next. She found a med director, rented a room from a local salon, and bought a single laser. Four months later she outgrew that space. A year after her next location, she outgrew that one too. She’s been in her current space four years, and is already looking for something bigger.

Certified Across the Board

Kisstina is certified in every laser her practice uses, along with certification as a trainer, and more individual certifications over the years than she can easily list. Kissy Face placed second in a recent local Best Of competition, a real point of pride given how few med spas serve the area, and recently earned a Google review recognition for best in Adrian.

What to Expect at Kissy Face Med Spa

Kisstina built her practice on two principles from day one: education and affordability. She wants every client to understand exactly what’s being done and why, and she never wanted to charge thousands of dollars for something she knows she can offer for hundreds. Former clients from jobs she held years ago still track her down just to say hello. She hugs them, asks about their families, and means it. People aren’t dollar signs walking through her door, they’re people who often open up about things they’ve never told anyone else, insecurities about their own reflection included.

What Kisstina Wants You to Know First

Do your research before choosing a provider. If someone tells you there’s only one option, or promises a specific number of treatments to get rid of hair or a tattoo for good, that’s a red flag. Nobody has a crystal ball. Kisstina is upfront that there’s rarely just one path to a result, sometimes the better option takes a little longer but costs a client far less along the way. She knows her clients work hard for their money and never treats a visit as an obligation.

What’s Next for Kissy Face Med Spa

Kisstina is proud of her current team, the first time in five years she’s felt this good about who’s on staff, and the business is growing fast enough that a bigger space is already on her mind. Outside of the spa, she’s a longtime writer who once dreamed of being a journalist and photographer, she wrote three books back in her high school young authors days and still writes for industry magazines today. She’s also, by her own admission, surprisingly shy outside of her own office, and a devoted homebody who can’t stop creating, her own skincare line and body scrubs among the results of what her staff calls a bored Kisstina.
